A beautiful blue sky, I just love the bare branches against the sky.
Today is Friday and I like to do a little trip down memory lane on Fridays. Today I'm reminiscing about my favorite comics. Did you have a favorite comic growing up? I get a kick out of the TV show The Big Bang Theory and the way they all collect comics. Of course, they go for the Super Hero comics and I liked the ones that were much less dramatic. My favorite was Little Lulu.
I think I may have read this very one. There is something about the artwork in comics from the 50's and 60's that appeals to me. I especially love beach scenes and snow scenes in comics. I guess they were simplistic, which suited my simplistic child mind just fine. Stories never too complicated, no real drama.
Do you remember this one? It was a favorite too. I don't really remember too much about the actual stories, just how much fun I thought they were. I only liked the funny ones. The Archie comics were fun to read, and I enjoyed the more teenage themes when I got older.
I love remembering these small things that brought joy to the youngster Me. Thanks for stopping by, hope you are thinking of your favorite comic!
Archie was my favorite for sure. I remember saving my money so I could go to the drugstore down the street and buy it. What a trip down memory lane that was?
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie...

And what a fun post this is...I use to love Archie...my favorite Satuday morning cartoon!
Have a great evening!
Hi Leslie! Oh, I loved the Archie comics! I kept them forever. Wish I still had them! Thanks for popping in to see me.

Those were my favorites as a kid also and I loved the Archie comics as a teen. Just realized you live in Ga also! I'm your newest follower.

I sure remember all of these. I loved getting the Sunday newspaper and reading the comics section. Then as I got older I liked the Sunday section that had recipes (surprise, surprise on that one!)
ReplyDeleteHi there, Thank you for coming by my blog to visit. I love yours-and in fact scrolled back through them all to see if I could find a photo of your beloved Champ-but didn't have any luck. I'm wondering if he looked like my Reggie, what mix do you think he was? I see some Jack Russell(or did when he was young) and some spaniel. He is a gentle old guy except with children.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting. I'll be back again.
Hugs, Noreen
If I own up to having read any of those, I'll be giving away my age. LOL!
