A fine, spring-like day. Short sleeves and flip flops. We built a little bon fire but had no marshmallows or hot dogs to roast, sigh. It was a lot of fun though.
On Monday's my ggrandaughter takes the school bus to our house. She had a lot of fun with a nice stick and the fire. So easy to entertain when there is a bon fire! My son is a fire building extraordinaire. It was really nice to spend some time outdoors, listening to the birds and watching the squirrel antics. My daffodils and hyacinths are in bloom. They are so pretty, I need to make a bouquet. Perhaps for tomorrow's post.
I hope you have a lovely week, thanks for dropping by.
How fun! Practically bare feet! Today we only have the bits of frozen piles of ice and snow. Rain this morn and now sun! Maybe your next treat outside will be s'mores. Our Blue Birds are now looking into the bird house to get started. They did it this early last year and with 4 successful nests, they had 16 babies. I have gone thru 10 pounds of meal worms keeping them all fed this winter.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely want to have S'mores. We like them on Saltine Crackers instead of graham crackers. Feeding the birds in winter can be quite expensive, can't they!
DeleteNext time there will be smores! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, and hot dogs!
DeleteWhere's all your snow? I first posted the Daffodils in bloom last year on Apr. 17th! We have turned the corner as things are melting, but still 4 feet of snow in the front yard.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Spring in the air. We still have snow, but it's 43 degrees right now, so it's melting.
ReplyDeleteBet your granddaughter loves coming over!
She does love coming to our house every week. Mostly because of my daughter. Hopefully spring will bloom soon in your neck of the woods.
DeleteSpring is the time to let the toes out so they can wiggle and be free
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Free toes! Letting the fresh air wash over them, ahhhhh.
DeleteSpring…I can only wish! Your little sweetie is adorable.
ReplyDelete70*F today. Went to Walmart to their plant section and bought a bunch. I bet we have more cold weather though.
DeleteYour granddaughter is a cutie. And you got a lovely photo of the fire. I would love to see your flowers; especially the Hyacinth!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit disappointed in the Hyacinths this year. I guess I forgot to fertilize them and it shows. They aren't growing tall. Very disappointed.
DeleteYour granddaughter looked like she was enjoying herself with this simple pleasure. So nice that's she's outside, too - 70 degrees! I could wish! We still have snow on the ground and it's raining and 40 degrees right now. Enjoy the warmth and send some our way?
ReplyDeleteIf I could, I would send you some Spring weather. It's been really lovely around here. High of 74*F today. Made a trip to Walmart to see what Spring plants they had. I came home with tulips, daffodils, cyclamen and some hyacinths. Have a great week, take care.
DeleteOh what fun to have flip flops on plus a bonfire ~ Signs of Spring ~

It does seem crazy to be wearing flip flops in February but today's temperature was 74*F. A lovely day.
DeleteThat must have been a whole lot of fun. Nothing like a good old fashioned bon fire. Have a great week Leslie :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun, plus g.gchild loved it. Next time i'll have s'mores!
ReplyDeleteWe are working on spring. So lovely to see yours! (ツ) from Jenn Jilks , ON, Canada!
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed these Spring-like days. Kind of cool in the morning, but warming up nicely to 74*F in the afternoon.
DeleteHi, Leslie! Thank you for stopping by my little spot in blogland. Your blog is delightful! There's nothing like a good fire and a long stick. Grandchildren are just mesmerized by them! I'm like you, my brain has ideas, but my hands don't always agree!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb for dropping by! Kids are so mesmerized by a campfire, you're so right. I hope you'll come again. Have a great day.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLooks fun, enjoying the fire, listening to the birds and seeing your pretty flowers blooming. Take care, enjoy your day and the rest of the week!
Thanks for dropping by and commenting. The weather has been so nice, it's hard to stay inside when the temperature is in the 70's!
DeleteThe snow is melting here, but outdoor bonfires are not yet in the offing. Wildfires have been terrifying outdoor bonfires in recent years. It seems that we are slowly burning off all the trees on the continent and releasing carbon in the process. Good to see children enjoying the simple things in life.
ReplyDeleteIt hurts my heart to see all these wildfires burning the land. So much loss. Have a great day.
DeleteWhat is it about kids and a bonfire? It's like a magnet and they love them. How fun that you have your sweet grand with you. And that you are seeing those early floral signs of spring. I realized I have missed many posts and just saw your follow link, so clicking on that to follow! Thanks for popping in this week!
ReplyDeleteA bonfire for all ages is fun! It was fun watching Nala play with her stick, Spring has definitely sprung here in Georgia. So nice to see the daffodils blooming. Thanks for dropping by!
ReplyDeleteKids and fire! You've reminded me of how we used to leash our toddler to keep him safe around campfires on camping trips.
ReplyDeleteYou are making good memories for your granddaughter!
