ASSASSIN BUG
Have you heard of the Assassin Bug? They live in Malaysia and are quite the fashionable bug. They hunt ants and kill them by turning their insides to liquid and then they suck the insides out. That leaves behind the ant's exoskeleton. They then take the exoskeleton and place them on their back. It's supposed to confuse the enemy but I think it's a fashion choice. Aren't they cute?

Never heard of these! Wild creatures God makes!
ReplyDeleteYes, God has a great sense of humor! Thanks for commenting!
ReplyDeleteAssassin Bugs are cosmopolitan, found even here in North America. The species you feature might be unique to Malaysia, but assassin bugs in general are not particularly unusual.
ReplyDeleteI guess the one I saw was unique to Malaysia, I had no idea they are found everywhere! I hope i get to see one!
DeleteRunning and screaming now. This is the ugliest bug I have ever seen. If I saw one of these in the house, I would never come back in till it had been killed, and not killed by me, either!
ReplyDeleteGinny, you're funny! I would love to see on of these bugs!
DeleteInteresting looking insect and I'm not afraid of bugs or spiders or snakes. But sometimes the odd looking thing I'd rather not run into and this might be one of them. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteI would love to see one. Don't necessarily want it crawling on me though. I love interesting insects.

ReplyDeleteI Had not heard of them. David informed me that they actually can be found everywhere, but this particular one is in Maylasia. I would love to see them. So cute.
DeleteCute is not the word I’d use. đ
ReplyDeleteToo funny, you don't like their fashion choice?LOL.
DeleteMOL BOL LOL I agree with Linda cute and bug are never in the same sentence here. Well with the exception of Lady Bugs. Very interesting info though
