GETTING RID OF CHRISTMAS BLUES

Good Morning! How are you? Still got those blues? I might have a cure. It's a fun project and not costly. Yesterday my daughter and I took our Christmas Tree and decorated it for the birds. I think it looks so cute.  I would of had more strung popcorn but a certain someone ate half of it. Grrrr. Just look at that guilty face. That adorable, sweet, kind, mischievous, guilty face.  (Please excuse the mess, we're still cleaning up.)

We strung popcorn and dried cranberries, cut stars out of bread and toasted them until they were crisp, and sliced a couple of oranges. We spread peanut butter on the stars and sprinkled with bird seed, I strung some very fine wire through the stars for hanging. Easy peasy! And cute to boot.

It was so much fun hanging all these on the tree outside in the yard. Right outside the living room window so we can watch. I hope the birds will come.

I guess the popcorn strand looks a little lame. Perhaps I'll string some more, I have lots left. I hope you'll try this fun activity. It really does help get rid of the Christmas blues!

I'm so glad you stopped by. Have a lovely day.

colors

Colour

By Dorathea McKellar

The lovely things that I have watched unthinking,
Unknowing, day by day,
That their soft dyes have steeped my soul in colour
That will not pass away -

Great saffron sunset clouds, and larkspur mountains,
And fenceless miles of plain,
And hillsides golden-green in that unearthly
Clear shining after rain;

And nights of blue and pearl, and long smooth beaches,
Yellow as sunburnt wheat,
Edged with a line of foam that creams and hisses,
Enticing weary feet.

And emeralds, and sunset-hearted opals,
And Asian marble, veined
With scarlet flame, and cool green jade, and moonstones
Misty and azure-stained;...

Yesterday I went to the grocery store. When I was in the produce department I was struck by how beautiful it is. All the different colors, so bright and vibrant. It was a delight to the senses! My mouth started watering, longing for a nice apple or a juicy tomato. Instead I had a colorless bowl of chicken salad (it was really good, though!). Now I have a hankering for a big bowl full of all different colors of fruit; apples, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, bananas, strawberries, kumquats, blueberries, raspberries. Isn't it amazing how many colorful fruits there are. I never really thought about it until I ventured into the store.

Hope your day is lovely. Thanks for stopping by.

LITTLE CAT FEET

This cat doesn't seem to want to look out over harbor and city. He just wants to laze around, sleeping and eating.

I hope you're having a wonderful New Year! Thanks for stopping by!
