Let's Go For a Ride

After a hard day at work, it's nice to go to my Dad's and take a golf cart ride. Recently on one of our adventures, we stopped at a tiny family burial plot. The oldest marker that can be read is dated in the 1790's. The townsfolk lovingly tend to this little plot. I don't know if the family Stinchcomb are still in the area, but if not, I hope, whereever they are,  they know how the people care for their ancestors. Not far from this little plot there are walnut and pecan trees. Perhaps they were once part of their land ownings. If you can beat the squirrels to them, you can pick up enough for a snack, possibly a pie!

I hope you have some place to go to relax and find an adventure! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Looks like you and your dad had a nice ride. Isn't it fun to find something unusual. Those old grave site hold a lot of interesting information especially if your looking for your ancestors. Someone sure keeps the burial plot up very nice.
Thanks for sharing - I love to go exploring.

  2. Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a comment. This small cemetery is well looked after and it would be fun to find some history on it, and the names.
Once when out photographing birds with a group we stumbled upon an old cemetery in a field in our area that was so overgrown, I don't think anyone knew it was there. Too bad there are not people to care for it too.

  4. Thanks for taking us on such an interesting trip. I can't believe how old that head stone is! Wow, here in California I don't see that kind of history. That's amazing. And how fun to go with your Dad on golf cart trips. :)
