Happy Thanksgiving! I'm taking a little break from the preparations to post my tablescape. I'm pretty happy with it. I made a Magnolia wreath, which I think turned out lovely. I wanted a woodland theme so I cut little circles of moss from my yard and have them on a small plate at each place setting. I then put a few acorns on the moss and a little woodland animal. Actually, they are jungle animals. I decided to add the animals late in the day and could only find jungle critters. But I thought they would do. On top of the moss I added a little candle cup. Napkins are homemade, a pretty fall leaf print. I added some peas to the hurricane glass, and though it doesn't show in these photos, I've raised the candle a bit, so more of it would show. We're having a small celebration this year, there will just be 6 of us. My dad will be spending the day with his great grandchild - he's very excited about that! I hope you're enjoying a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. I'm linking with BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday.

ReplyDeletee the centerpieces for Christmas!.....great job!
Hello, Leslie! I think this is my first visit to your blog from Susan's BNOTP. What an absolutely GORGEOUS table!!! My goodness, woman! You really did it up!!! I love that you actually MADE that fabulous magnolia leaf wreath! I like the way the leaves are turned up on both sides so that you get a little bit of the rough brown mixed in with the glossy green. That had to have taken a lot of time and patience. Time I have...patience, not so much! :-) Your place settings are absolutely exquisite. EXQUISITE!!! The gleam of the gold is perfect for the season, and I am just blown away by the little individual woodland scenes at each setting. What a creative idea!!!!!! One of the really great things about this table is that it could so easily work for either Thanksgiving or the Christmas holidays!!! It's wonderful! Very nice!!! I hope that you and yours enjoyed a relaxing and filling Thanksgiving Day that will extend into a fun weekend. Take care!
ReplyDeleteAlycia! What a lovely comment! Thank you so much for all your kind words. I love the magnolia wreath and can't wait to decide where to use it for Christmas. Until I get my village up I think I'll put it on the buffet. I am such a nature girl, and this tablesetting really made me happy with the woodland items!
DeleteLeslie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and what a gorgeous table you have set! I love the gold rimmed china and the chargers are so beautiful! Your centerpiece is so pretty ....I love fresh magnolia leaves and the split peas in the hurricane are so fun! You have really set a gorgeous table!! You asked about my lantern ..it's has a metal top and the rest is made of wood. I think I bought it in Texas in a gift shop several years ago! Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend!

Sonia, thanks for visiting and your wonderful comments! I used the peas because they were a last minute, cheap alternative to the plans I had that never came together. As soon as I put them in I LOVED them! Funny how things work out like that! I really love that lantern, but I don't guess there is much chance I can find one now!
