FLASHBACK FRIDAY

Hello! How are you?  I am so glad that Friday is upon us and am really looking forward to a three day weekend.  I have no special plans, how about you?

I haven't done a Flashback Friday in a while, so thought I would do a fun one since it's Back To School time.  The first picture is from the Sears Catalog, 1968.  We always got the Sears Catalog and I would drool over the cute clothes.  The skirt and sweater on the left would be very similar to what I wore in '68.  Knee socks, sweater, and  loafers. I was a big fan of the pleated skirt with colored knee socks and sweater.

Now for something not so stylish...the dreaded gym clothes.  The kids are so lucky now days, to not have to wear gym clothes.  Of course, when I was in high school you couldn't wear pants, at least we in the South couldn't.  I swear that looks like my gym teacher, Mrs. Tankersly.
And a little something fun...an autograph book.  I had one very similar.  Mine had colored pages, If I remember correctly.  You would fold the pages down as they were signed.

And now for a little fun after a hard day hitting the books...my favorite comic.
Little Lulu
I hope you've enjoyed this little trip down memory lane.  Did it stir any memories in your mind?
All of these images I found on Pinterest.

  1. Yes, it stirred memories! In 1968 I was 12 and I loved those pleated skirts with knee sox too. I did not have an autograph book, but I had a friend that did. I HATED the gym suit (ours were red). My favorite comic was Archie. I wasn't allowed to wear pants to school (except under a dress if it snowed, you can imagine what that looked like!) until 9th grade. From that point forward, all I wore was jeans and flannel shirts unless it was a chorale day and I had to wear a dress! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

    1. Vicki, I had a red gym suit too! We were able to wear 'pant suits' when I went in to 11th grade, and then we could wear jeans in 12th. I had forgotten the memory of wearing pants under skirts! I don't think we actually wore pants, but I surely do remember wearing shorts under our skirts in grammar school so when we hung on the monkey bars our unmentionables weren't showing!:) I liked Archie too, I thought the girls dressed so fabulously! I think if given the chance, I could be like the guys in Big Bang Theory, only I would collect all the girly comics like Nancy, Archie, Little Lulu. I also loved Sad Sack! Thanks for visiting!
