Winter weather surrounded us, but we were free of ice or snow. We were so prepared! We may have ice tomorrow because our temperatures are dropping to 26 tonight. Streets will probably be pretty bad. Schools are closed tomorrow. I feel sorry for the people who have lost their power. That was the main thing I was worried about. Being on a well, we have no water without power.
We have a nice fire going and had pizza for dinner. I have the makings for Chex Mix, which we'll make tomorsrow. Must say we're doing darn good.

I am so glad to hear your news!!! The fire looks delightful!! We did not lose our power either.
ReplyDeleteVery glad we missed out on the freezing rain! Glad you kept your power.

DeleteGlad to hear you missed the southern ice storm. Up here we actually did get 18 in of non-stop snow. Been working on the driveway three times yesterday and it looks like we have to go back out again this morning.
ReplyDeleteWow, 18 inches of snow is so much! Good luck working on your driveway. Thanks foir stopping by. Take care.

No complaints here. We've got a nice fire going keeping us warm and cozy.
DeleteI was thinking that I should have bought chex mix ingredients before the storm! Ah well, don't need it but I do love it! You look very cozy and I'm glad it wasn't as bad as expected. (Here too.)
ReplyDeleteI do love my chex mix. This will be our third batch this winter.
DeleteHere it is Monday night and we are still getting snow. Don't know the depth but probably past 15 inches. We are nice and warm with no electricity lost.
ReplyDeleteThank goiodness you still have electricit, that's a lot of snow!
DeleteWe had lots of snow here, but at least its light and fluffy. And your fire looks lovely. There's nothing better than the warmth and the crackle as the woods burns. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI do wish we had gotten a little snow. But at least it's cold enough for a fire.
DeleteGreat to have a fireplace! I usually light a fire when storms approach just for my peace of mind!
ReplyDeleteI do love our fireplace. It's makes it so warm and cozy on cold days.
DeleteIt does sound like you're doing fine! We're hunkered down, probably fir at least the next few days. Too cold and icy to go anywhere!
ReplyDeleteThis is our first really cold weather. Our low this morning was 16 with brisk winds.
ReplyDelete*I may have sent a comment through half done, sorry!
ReplyDeleteThe fire looks so nice and toasty. Chex Mix, yummm. I'm hoping the storm lets up for everyone quickly. Glad to hear you are staying warm.
We're doing well in spite of our snow, I guess because of things like snow tires, good insulation, and a generator!
