A LITTLE BIT MORE CHRISTMAS

I'm not ready for the season to be over, so I thought I would do one last post on Christmas. These days since Christmas have been slow and, honestly, a bit boring. I've tried to learn to crochet a scarf with cataclysmic results. I'll save that for another post. It will give you a good laugh.

Soon I will be taking the stockings down. I love my stockings. They look like they are needlepoint but they aren't. I had to sew the boots. I just happened to had some dark green velvet. I've had these for almost 40 years. They make me happy every year when I unpack them.

This is a Spider Plant that i gave myself for Christmas. I want to start growing some plants since my gardening life seems to be over. I've tried to research some easy plants to start off with and this is one of them. I can't wait for it to get babies. They look so cute hanging down from the mother plant.

I love the way it's both white and cream colored. They say this plant likes coffee grounds! I'm a little nervous about adding that to the soil.

The New Year is quickly approaching. I have no plans other than trying to stay awake to bring in 2026. That might be a difficult ordeal, lol. With Don not here, I want to stay up with the kids. I hope you have a healthy and happy New Years. Thanks so much for stopping by.

  3. Your stockings are very pretty and old-world, just what I love myself. Your Spider Plant is also very pretty. I've been thinking of getting a few myself.

    1. I dure hope I can keep my spider plant alive! It takes bright, indirect light and I'm trying to figure out what type of light do you get if you're using a grow light?

  4. You made these stockings? They are glorious!! And your spider looks very healthy. After Christmas it always seems a bit of a letdown.

  5. Ginny, I only sewed the panels together into stockings. You're right, after Christmas is a let down.

  7. I laughed at your description of your crochet efforts! It does sound like my try a few years ago.
The stockings are so pretty. We have 2 made by a friend, using appliqué. She is a talented needlewoman.
Be well, Leslie, and have a good New Year's Eve!

  8. We have Tim's from when he was a kid. It's still up. We have our trees still up. Not sure when they'll come down. What often happens is we wake up one day and we're done. But right now, it's 11-day Christmas Staycation and we're in no rush to take anything down.

    Happy Christmas. Happy New Year.

    Cheers, Ivy.
