Oh goiodness! I don't like this warm weather we're having here in Georgia. Today we reached a high of 70. Some days we've been close to 80. Daffodils are emerging and today I noticed that my white azalea is sporting buds and a few blooms.
I like winter. I enjoy having cold weather where I get to have a fire in the fireplace. I like wearing sweaters and knitted hats and gloves. I think it's supposed to turn cold again in a week or so. I'll be happy when that happens.
I hope you're having a good week. Thanks for dropping by.

We have some plants blooming that aren't supposed to bloom until March!! It's a mixed up world.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy! hope it doesn't affect the shrubs in the spring.
DeleteThat's crazy! No plants here, there's snow on the ground. But right now, we are having a booming thunderstorm and pouring rain. It's the kind of thunder that shakes the house. So strange for Michigan in January. But, more snow is predicted tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat's some crazy weather! Snow, then rain, then snow! Stay warm and dry.
DeleteI feel the same way! In the winter, I am finally rid of heat and bugs. But now it is like spring. We have been 60, but not as hot as you. I want a proper winter!
ReplyDeleteWinter can be lovely. I like to experience all of it. No fair to feel like spring already!
DeleteThose warm temperatures may be welcome to some, but they do not bode well for the environment. But, don’t worry. Trump says it’s all a hoax anyway!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha. He's an idiot! I hope our winter comes back soon!
DeleteEven in Michigan it was warm yesterday -- 50 (which is rare for us) and 58 this morning. Temps are due to drop this weekend, but wow. I'm no winter fan but this is just weird.
ReplyDeleteThere are some flowers whose seeds do better when they've froze then unfroze (is that a word?). But this is crazy. I want winter.
DeleteAzaleas in January is really something! We are having an exceptionally warm winter thus far on the west coast and I would really welcome some cold frosty weather - even snow.
ReplyDeleteYes, let's get some snow! That's what I want.
DeleteNo signs of spring up here in NH. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteGeteting lots of signs, but so much winter left. I hope we get some cold weather, even some snow.
DeletePeople who don't garden don't always understand the harm that above average temperatures do to plants. I hope your temperatures return more to normal. I wouldn't mind taking some of the surplus warmth from you, but I can't. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteMy garden was always more beautiful if we had sustained cold weather. I've notied our Cherry trees are throwing out blooms, too.
DeleteThat is pretty warm. We've had a couple of warm days here too which is unusual for here but no flowers yet!!
ReplyDeleteWeather channel says we should go back to cold weather next week. I hope so!
Delete...I went to the University of Georgia in the '60s, I remember it going to 17 F one night.
ReplyDeleteAnd then up to the 60's probably!
ReplyDeleteThis week in the UK it's been cold with many areas having snow but next week the rain returns and of course the weather will feel milder ... don't know how the plants/flowers cope with all these changes!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
HI Jan! It does seem like some plants are hurt by the thawing and freezing, but some actually need it. I wish for osme more cold weather so I can have a fire.
DeleteWow, those daffodils are waking up early in your neck of the woods! It's so cold here nothing is blooming. Snow has been falling just about every other day. It is nice to sit by the fire, but so cold when I need to go outside. Brrr.
ReplyDeleteIt wouild be hard dealing with the cold. I don't even have a winter coat here, our winters are generally very mild. We'll have a few lows in the 20''s but not many.
DeleteI'll take spring any day, not a fan of high power bills, icy roads, no daylight and slipping/falling on icy sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteYou should move to Georgia!
DeleteBeautiful :) It's very much winter here in Wales as we currently have snow & ice, though it is due to warm up in the next few days. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteKeep warm and take care! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
ReplyDeletei love winter too. i don't think i would enjoy living in an area where there were no defined seasons!! it's warm here today but we have had some bitter cold days and snow!! poor plants, they are confused!!
ReplyDeleteI think thawing and freezing is good for some plants. I know seeds like Larkspur and Poppies need that kind of weather to bloom good.
DeleteHello Leslie,
ReplyDeleteThe warm weather is fooling the plants. It is still cold here in Maryland, only in the 40's lows in the teens and twenties. I can not wait for Spring. Take care, have a great day and happy week ahead.
I bet my daffodils will be blooming soon! Have a great week. Keep warm!
DeleteAgree, just a bit too early. January is the month I like to know the garden is truly sleeping and no labor (other than dreaming) is required!
ReplyDeleteI do love "garden dreaming". A great winter pasttime. Have a great week.
DeleteI like the seasons to be proper seasons, not the mismatch we seem to have now.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I want winter to be winter!
DeleteWell I'm as jealous as can be! I can't wait for 70's & 80's :). Have you gotten much rain?
ReplyDeleteWe've not gotten much rain at all. They will call for rain, and we may get a sprinkle or two, but that's all. I do love rain.
Deletewow, that is some warm weather. I also enjoy being coy inside with a fire burning. Happy Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHOpe you have a great week.
