MONDAY, MONDAY...

Pretty September skies! Lately the clouds have been so lovely, puffy and plentiful.  I can see some of the trees are already starting to change, which seems early here in Georgia. Usually our prettiest time will be in November. The first photo is of a Lace Cap Hydrangea. I love the odd leaf it has thrown.  So creamy colored in contrast to the green and white of the other leaves.

I'm so wanting the cooler temperatures that are still a ways off. I decided to do a winter cross stitch to keep me happy.  It's on 28 ct linen and boy am I having trouble seeing!  I haven't been using a hoop, but I think I will use one and see if it helps.  I'm doing 2 over 2, and it's still hard.  Maybe it's time I get one of those big, goofy looking magnifying glasses that hangs around your neck.  I can seriously hear the laughter, but what's a girl to do?

I"m enjoying my day off today. We don't have any big plans, just enjoying the day together. I think we might grill some ribs. I would like to get in the garden, but honestly, it's still too hot.  And the humidity has been really high lately. Guess I'll just try to squint and do a little stitching. I hope you're having a great Labor Day, thanks for stopping by!

  2. Beautiful photos, Leslie! I love this time of year although it could be a little cooler! My garden needs a little clean up but I really can't take the humidity.

I have several stitching projects going on. I usually pick them up in the fall when I spend more time indoors and the days are shorter. That doesn't sound too far away!

    Happy September!

    XO,
    Jane

    1. I'm so looking forward to the cooler weather, too! The humidity is what has kept me in on this long weekend. I hope you'll post about your stitching projects, I'd love to see what you're doing! I love to stitch in the winter. I usually am working on my crazy quilt, but I happened upon a blog of a cross stitcher and got swayed!

  3. I hope you enjoy your day off. Sometimes it's nice just to do nothing! I have noticed how big, fluffy, and beautiful the clouds are now, too. Although it's still super hot here, I know fall will be here before we know it!

    1. Today has been wonderful, though I've been extremely lazy! Funny how when September 1st arrives I sit inside and notice the low light and it just seems like it's going to be cooler outside. Then I go out and am disappointed!

  4. Hi Leslie! Glad you had a day to do what you wanted to do. Love seeing your pretty snaps. Thanks so much for popping in to see me and thank you for pointing out how my little Rooster tails on the plate mimic the flowers on my canisters. I hadn't seen that!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
